News » 22.01.2026 - NL: New edition of Mastercourse Floriculture kicks off

On Monday, January 19 2026, a brand new Mastercourse Floriculture kicks off, again with participants who can be classified as 'Future Leaders in floriculture' in their respective countries. This week, the program will focus on the Westland region, next week, the group will also visit the IPM in Essen and other parts/companies in the Netherlands.

During two intensive weeks in the Netherlands, the selected participants are immersed in a wealth of horticultural knowledge and experience. Koppert, Chrysal, Anthura, Beekenkamp, Greenhouse Sustainability, PECO Holding, Shypple and Van Krimpen are partners of the Mastercourse. The participants (see participant list here) will be received by members of the board of directors at each of the aforementioned companies.

One of the main themes during this year's course is communication throughout the chain and with the final consumer. Cooperating companies' directors are receiving the participants and will discuss strategy and vision in the form of interactive sessions and workshops. At the same time, the course is the perfect opportunity to get to know peers from around the globe and to work together intensively for two weeks.

Jungle Talks also continues its cooperation with AIPH on organizing the Young International Grower of the Year Award. Three finalists have already been announced: Tatiana de German Ribon, Chief Executive Officer of Flores La Conchita in Colombia; Cauê Gomes Fogagnoli, Technical Director and Partner at Sítio Kolibri in Brazil; and Henil Vashi, Horticultural Advisor at Robin Tacchi Plants in the United Kingdom. The final winner will be revealed on 27 January during the International Grower of the Year gala at IPM Essen.

"We are very proud that these leading companies and organizations work together to support and inspire this international group,' says co-organizer Renee Snijders. "Jungle Talks will maintain and foster the contacts between participants, partners and supporters also after the Mastercourse, to make sure that all parties will make the most of this valuable cooperation."

This year, as another initiative in fostering these connections, the second ''Mastercourse Meet Up'' will take place. Meet Ups are 5-day programs for Mastercourse alumni in which the focus lies on networking and exploring a floricultural region. "We are planning on visiting Kenya in September 2026," mentions Ed Smit. Only Mastercourse alumni can participate in these Meet Ups, thus strengthening and expanding the alumni network in the coming years.
