News » 15.01.2026 - UK: "In 2026, we plan to triple everything"

Long's Church Creek Farm is a small-scale, local family farm specializing in specialty cut flowers. However, the farm, along with her business, is only getting bigger.

"We have expanded," said owner Jessica Long. "We have tripled what we grow. In 2026, we plan to triple everything."

Recent grant awards have helped. Church Creek Farm was the recipient of a Natural Resources Conservation Services grant, where they added two high tunnels. The farm also received a Rowan County Soil and Water Conservation grant to put a new well on the property. Long's increased production has coincided with a heightened demand for the local flowers she peddles.

"We are always at the Salisbury Farmers Market," Long said. "… We plan to be there every Saturday this year. We have great customers and a lot of subscription customers. Every month, they get a bouquet delivered to their house. Or they can choose to pick it up at our farm."
