With counting day nearing, flower vendors in Patna are witnessing a sharp spike in sales as political parties and supporters rush to place bulk orders for garlands and bouquets to celebrate anticipated victories on Nov 14, turning what is typically a seasonal trade into a round-the-clock operation.

Some of the vendors report sales doubling—and in some cases tripling—compared to regular weeks. "Political parties, candidates, and their supporters are placing bulk orders for traditional marigold garlands, rose, lavender, and carnation bouquets, and customised floral arrangements to celebrated probable victories or extend gestures of goodwill," said Rajesh Kumar, a florist on Exhibition Road.

The air in flower hubs like Kankarbagh, Fraser Road, and Dak Bungalow Chowk is thick with the scent of fresh blooms and the hum of hurried preparations. "We haven't had a moment to rest in the past five days," said Kamalkant Singh, a vendor at Kankarbagh. "Orders are coming in bulk for Nov 14. Some workers have placed orders for bouquets while some asked for garlands, with party symbols," he said.

Nishant Kumar alias Pushpak, a florist on Thakurbari Road, said workers start stringing garlands made of marigold, while they have ordered fresh flowers from West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh to prepare bouquets.
