first Chinese peony flower cargo line from Heze, Shandong Province to Ezhou in Hubei Province opened at Huahu International Airport, Asia's first cargo hub, in Ezhou on Sunday.
Served by a Boeing 737 freighter, the cargo line features a temperature-controlled and prioritized transportation mode to support the "same-day harvest, same-day shipment, next-day delivery" of fresh flowers from Heze.
This is the 13th new cargo route launched this year at Huahu airport, bringing the total cargo routes to 98.
As the largest Chinese peony cultivation base, Heze is home to 600 varieties of these flowers with a planting area exceeding 3,300 hectares. Its annual sales of Chinese peony flowers typically reach 120 million pieces, accounting for more than 60 percent of China's market share. Heze exported Chinese peony seed oil, cosmetics, and other products to more than 30 countries and regions with a total output exceeding 13 billion yuan ($1.78 billion).
