News » 21.10.2026 - South Korean students visit Dutch biocontrol company

Valto Biocontrol, based in the Netherlands, hosted a delegation of ten students from South Korea who visited the company to learn more about Dutch greenhouse horticulture and the innovative techniques used in the sector. The visit was organized by Lentiz | Cursus & Consult and is part of a broader knowledge exchange program between the Netherlands and South Korea.

The students make up the JB Smart Agriculture Group and come from three South Korean educational institutions. Their studies cover a range of fields within agriculture and horticulture, including smart farming and automation control, seed technology and breeding, horticulture and crop management, and gardening.

During their stay in the Netherlands, the students are being introduced to several links in the greenhouse horticulture chain. In addition to Valto, the program includes visits to seed suppliers, greenhouse builders, screen installation companies and cultivation specialists. By combining practical visits with classroom lessons, the students gain a complete picture of the Dutch approach.

At Valto, the focus was on natural crop protection. The students learned about the role of biocontrol in sustainable, future-proof cultivation. They will use what they have learned in assignments in which they develop their own cultivation plans. In doing so, they will determine which techniques and insights they may want to apply in South Korean horticulture in the future.

This is the first group of South Korean students to visit Valto through this program, and a second group is expected later. The ambitions of the parties involved extend beyond these visits. Cooperation agreements have since been signed with the participating schools, laying the foundation for a long-term partnership focused on knowledge exchange and international development.
