In addition to the construction of its new headquarters, KP Holland has awarded the contract for the development of its new greenhouse, processing facility and water treatment area. On the 2.5-hectare site at Kasteelweg 10 in Naaldwijk, Technokas will build a state-of-the-art greenhouse where technology, automation and cultivation come together.
The partnership between KP Holland and Technokas goes back many years. Technokas previously built the greenhouse at KP Holland's Herenwerf location in Maasland and replaced the roof of the greenhouse that has been demolished to make way for the new development. In recent years, the company has also installed air handling units at two KP Holland locations.

Greenhouse and processing facility
A distinctive feature of the project is that approximately half of the new development will consist of a high-tech greenhouse with a glass roof. The greenhouse will be equipped with three climate screen systems, air handling units, underfloor and overhead heating, supplemental lighting and an automated internal transport system featuring growing benches, roller conveyors and crop transport trolleys.
The remaining half will have a sandwich panel roof and will house a modern water treatment and processing facility. This area will connect the existing greenhouse, the new greenhouse and the new headquarters. The facility will include overhead crane systems, buffer conveyors and a storage system for empty growing benches. In addition, five loading docks will be constructed, bringing logistic activities together at one central location.
Ready for the future
The processing facility has been designed with future expansion in mind, allowing crops from the adjacent new greenhouse to be processed there as well.

Pilling works will start in early September. The greenhouse is expected to be weatherproof before the end of the year, after which installation of the technical systems will begin.
