News » 01.07.2026 - Uzbek President visits Namangan Flower Festival

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the 65th International Flower Festival during his trip to the Namangan region. The head of state familiarized himself with the presented flower arrangements, thematic exhibitions, and venues, and greeted local florists, entrepreneurs, and guests of the large-scale event. In the current year, the floristry holiday started on 24 May and will last until 12 July.

The current festival has officially entered the Guinness World Records. Representatives of the international organization monitored the progress of the large-scale work for a month, during which residents of Namangan manually planted more than 29 million flower seedlings, after which they recorded the world record.

Such results became possible thanks to the systemic development of the industry in the region. To date, 45 mahallas in the city specialize in floriculture, which made it possible to cover 16,000 households and provide jobs for 21,000 people. In March and April alone, 4,683 greenhouses were created on household plots, where 120 million flower bulbs were grown, bringing 300 billion soums of additional income to the population.

The development of the festival in recent years has significantly strengthened the tourism potential of the region. Since 2018, the duration of the event increased from 3 to 40 days, which led to a growth in tourist flow: the number of foreign guests grew from 25,000 to 800,000 people, while the domestic flow reached 6.4 million visitors.
