News » 19.06.2026 - Spanish exports of flowers and live plants grow 10% in the first quarter of 2026

Spanish exports of flowers and live plants reached €238 million in the first quarter of 2026, a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Live plants remained the leading export category, with the Valencia, Andalusia, and Catalonia regions accounting for the bulk of overseas sales.

Spanish exports of flowers and live plants from January to March this year totalled €238 million, up from €216 million in the same period the previous year, according to data from the Customs and Excise Department of the Spanish Tax Agency, processed by FEPEX. This 10% growth reflects advances across most of the segments that make up this sector.

Live plants remained the leading export group, at €182 million, up 7% on the first quarter of 2025. Within this category, outdoor plants stood out, growing 13% to reach €90 million, while cuttings reached €11 million, a 15% increase. Indoor plants also rose, to €23 million, while trees and shrubs edged back 1% to €41 million.

Cut flowers also moved higher in the first quarter of 2026, reaching €40 million.

Foliage, by contrast, posted a slight 5% decline, coming in at €13 million, while bulb exports remained broadly stable at €2 million, up just 1% on the first quarter of 2025.

By region, Spanish flower and live plant exports remained highly concentrated geographically. The Valencia region ranked first among exporting regions in this period, with €69 million, up 8%, followed by Andalusia with €60 million, though that figure represented an 11.6% decline compared to the same period in 2025. Catalonia came in at €44.5 million, with growth of 20%.

Overall, the figures point to a positive trend in Spanish flower and live plant exports in the first quarter of 2026, with live plants as the sector's main pillar and a highly concentrated regional structure.
