News » 08.07.2025 - Celebrating American grown flowers this July
July is American Grown Flowers Month, a time to honor the farmers, designers, wholesalers, and everyone involved in bringing the beauty of locally grown flowers to life.
Florabundance is proud to be a Certified American Grown wholesaler and an active member of the Slow Flowers movement, known for offering a wide assortment of premium cut flowers and foliage. Their products are thoughtfully sourced from both domestic and international farms, but their focus this month is on U.S. growers and the seasonal treasures they provide.
This July, Florabundance is joining the national floral community in a four-part celebration of American Grown Flowers. They are inviting florists, designers, and studios across the country to highlight the passion and expertise behind every American-grown stem.
Spotlight on American-grown varieties
In their spotlight on American-grown varieties, Florabundance starts the month by showcasing standout selections from their U.S.-based partners. Featured flowers include fragrant sweet peas, vibrant sunflowers, strawberry blonde sunflowers, and elegant bearded iris. Additionally, delicate cosmos, campanula, limonium, delphinium, purple larkspur, yarrow, and fresh-cut blackberry fruit clusters are being highlighted.
Stories from the field
Florabundance partners with farms of all sizes across the country. From March through October, more than 70 percent of their inventory is sourced domestically, with many flowers transported directly from farms to their facility by water, an efficient and sustainable shipping method. Each stem they carry is grown with care by people who love their craft, ensuring that American-grown flowers bring freshness, seasonality, and quality to every bunch.
Cosmos offer a delicate, fluttering texture and a just-picked feel. A classic American-grown summer flower, perfect for seasonal bouquets.
Educate and advocate
Florabundance is also focused on educating and advocating for American-grown flowers. Although American consumers spend over 27 billion dollars a year on floral products, only about 20 percent of those flowers are grown in the U.S., which is why Florabundance is raising awareness about the value of domestic sourcing. Supporting American-grown flowers means investing in rural communities, artisan growers, and floral diversity, as well as supporting sustainable practices.
Statice adds texture and soft color to mixed bouquets. This versatile filler is grown widely in the U.S. and available in a spectrum of summer shades.
Throughout the month, Florabundance will be sharing fast facts, economic insights, and sustainability highlights to help build awareness among both professionals and consumers.
